Free Smashing Pumpkins, not just MP3s, but EPs of their newest album

The American alternative rock band Smashing Pumpkins is set to release their newest album or mp3s starting soon for free.

The band's newest album entitled Teargarden by Kaleidyscope is composed of 44 songs, 4 of which have already been recorded, and will be released one EP at a time starting halloween.

Band leader, Billy Corgan, has this to say in their website.

Each song will be made available absolutely for free, to anyone anywhere. There will be no strings attached. Free will mean free, which means you won't have to sign up for anything, give an email address, or jump through a hoop. You will be able to go and take the song or songs as you wish, as many times as you wish...

All 44 songs: free for ALL

This is a good marketing strategy for Smashing Pumpkins because giving out free EP will make them look good to fans. And if the album is good too, then they will have the leverage to sell the album in a collector's version. Not mention other items that they can associate with the album.

Fans on the other hand can enjoy free music of their beloved band. Non-fans will in turn be curious enough to try out free Smashing Pumpkins music because its free. Who knows, they might dig the band's other mp3s?

My Brute is a totally free flash-based online game. You are to create a brute of your own and pit it against other brute. As you fight against other brutes, you gain experience level, skills and weapons. Creating an account is as easy as just challeging a brute. You can challenge my brute VOCHOG here..

You will be allowed 3 matches per day. You can also join the arena, so that your brute will have more fights but you will not be able to see the fights themselves.

Gamers might not appreciate this game because My Brute does not provide you control over your brute when it fights. Your control is basically limited to choosing the brute it will face. In a sense, its like cockfighting. Once you click on the fight button, the outcome depends solely on the application programs.

What's make the game exciting for me, is that every brute is given different set of skills and weapons. For every win, attributes are awarded randomly. Even though you can see the level of your would-be opponent, you will still be surprised as the fight go along.

It has been a while since I played my brute but I am glad I won all 3 online matches for the day. The online game my brute is absolutely, an action-filled and enjoyable free stuff on the net.

There's free e-mail to connect with people you love or know. I personally like google mail or gmail. But I also have a yahoo account.

Free blogging platforms. Wordpress and Blogger are definitely the top two in random for me.

Free fora (plural of forum) where you can share your passion with almost anyone and discuss it till you drop. Or you can clash brains with confrontational people and debate yourselves to death.

Free advertising. This is heaven for businesses. Putting up an online presence is not as hard and as costly than traditional advertising platforms and with more coverage, to say the least.

Free information for research. Free entertainment like movies and games. And a whole bunch of others.
